Objectives

Through the implementation of our project "CARDBOARDing pass: A Journey from Trash to Treasure!", we intend to address the problem of overproduction of paper and cardboard waste resulting from excessive consumption and fast shopping practices. The main objective is to raise awareness among young people on the topic of environmental sustainability, promoting concrete actions of collection, creative recycling and urban redevelopment. Starting from the experience of previous Erasmus+ projects carried out by our association, we want to expand the positive impact generated in the community, consolidating environmental awareness and the sense of belonging to a Europe that shares values of environmental protection and active citizenship. From the point of view of youth work, the project fits perfectly into non-formal education practices, promoting experiential learning and direct involvement of participants. Young people from different European countries will discuss environmental issues through practical, artistic and awareness-raising activities, developing transversal skills such as creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills. Environmental education thus becomes an opportunity for personal and collective growth, contributing to the formation of responsible and active citizens in combating environmental degradation. The specific objectives of the project are articulated on several levels. First of all, we want to promote youth mobility for non-formal and informal learning, offering participants an international and inclusive context in which to acquire new skills and broaden their cultural horizons. Through creative workshops and practical activities, we intend to stimulate the reuse and transformation of paper and cardboard waste, raising awareness among young people on the importance of recycling and upcycling. The planned activities include the collection and reuse of waste materials for the creation of artistic works and objects of common use, the involvement of the local community through educational initiatives and the proposal of innovative solutions to reduce the environmental impact of online shopping. Another central objective is to foster a sense of community and cooperation among young Europeans, encouraging the exchange of good practices and the sharing of experiences. The active participation of young people will be encouraged through moments of discussion and brainstorming, in which they will be able to express ideas and propose initiatives to be developed in the context of their local realities. Furthermore, the project aims to strengthen the bond between partner organizations, consolidating a collaboration network for future initiatives related to environmental sustainability. The impact of the project will be measurable not only in terms of waste collected and transformed, but also through the change of mentality and attitudes in the participants and communities involved. The awareness-raising and environmental education activities in local schools will have a lasting effect, contributing to the diffusion of responsible and sustainable behaviors. Furthermore, through the documentation of the activities and their diffusion on social media, we want to further broaden the reach of our message, inspiring other young people and organizations to undertake similar actions. In summary we can say that our project "CARDBOARDing pass: A Journey from Trash to Treasure!" aims to transform an environmental problem into an educational and creative opportunity, actively involving young people in the search for sustainable solutions. Through our approach based on youth work and non-formal education, we want to stimulate awareness, a sense of responsibility and concrete action, contributing to building a more attentive and environmentally friendly society.
