The implementation of this project was guided by the ambitious overall objective of promoting social inclusion, personal empowerment and the development of key competences among young people, particularly those with disabilities and fewer opportunities, by using art as a tool for transformation, active participation and intercultural dialogue. The project activities took place between the municipalities of Pignola and Tito, in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy, making complementary use of the characteristics of both locations. Pignola served as the main setting for outdoor artistic activities, cultural visits, the final art exhibition and public awareness-raising events involving the local community. At the same time, the headquarters of LE BOLLE DI SAPONE APS, located in Tito, hosted the creative workshops, non-formal education sessions, group work, reflection activities and artistic laboratories. The association's fully accessible and well-equipped facilities ensured the active participation of all young people, including participants with disabilities and fewer opportunities. The complementary use of these two venues made it possible to combine the promotion of the local cultural and natural heritage with the availability of suitable learning environments, making a significant contribution to the achievement of the project's educational, inclusive and intercultural objectives. To achieve this overall aim, the project was structured around the following specific objectives, all of which were successfully accomplished during its implementation: - Promoting social inclusion and strengthening community cohesion: This objective was achieved by creating safe, accessible and inclusive artistic spaces where young people with and without disabilities from Italy, Spain and Serbia collaborated on an equal basis. Through inclusive theatre workshops, collective murals, music sessions and other creative activities, participants shared their experiences and produced joint artistic works reflecting their personal realities, building networks of mutual support and understanding capable of overcoming physical, cultural and social barriers. - Developing social, personal and professional competences through art: Artistic activities, including multimedia installations, interactive performances, painting, photography and theatre, served as the main tools for strengthening essential competences such as teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, effective communication, leadership and problem-solving. This learning process proved particularly valuable for participants with disabilities, providing them with practical skills that can be transferred to their future educational, professional and personal development. - Giving a voice to young people with disabilities and raising social awareness: One of the project's most significant achievements was empowering participants to share their experiences through artistic expression. Their artworks challenged long-standing stereotypes about disability and promoted a culture based on respect, participation and appreciation of diversity. The final art exhibition, together with the subsequent local exhibitions organised in the partner communities, became effective awareness-raising tools, allowing messages of inclusion, resilience and active participation to reach a wider audience. - Fostering intercultural understanding and transnational cooperation: By bringing together young people from different social, economic and cultural backgrounds, the project promoted meaningful intercultural dialogue. Collaborative activities, exchanges of experiences, the sharing of cultural traditions and the joint creation of artistic works strengthened participants' sense of belonging to a diverse European community founded on mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation as effective ways to address common challenges such as social exclusion. - Integrating digital tools for documentation, dissemination and awareness-raising: The project effectively incorporated accessible digital tools to document activities, create multimedia content and disseminate the project's results. The production of videos, photographs, testimonials and other digital materials significantly increased the project's visibility, ensured the long-term sustainability of its outcomes and made its results accessible to people with different types of disabilities.
