With the Digital Empathy project, we wanted to offer young people an international space for learning, exchange and personal growth on the topics of cyberbullying, digital safety, media literacy and online empathy. The main objective was to increase participants’ awareness of the risks linked to the use of social media and digital tools, helping them to recognise harmful behaviours, fake news, dynamics of exclusion and situations of online violence. The project also aimed to develop practical skills to prevent and counter cyberbullying, promoting more responsible, respectful and empathetic behaviours in digital relationships. Through non-formal education activities, role plays, workshops, fact-checking, awareness-raising campaigns and moments of reflection, participants were able to connect the topics addressed to their own personal experiences. Another objective was to strengthen critical thinking, intercultural communication, teamwork, digital skills and active citizenship. The project also wanted to enhance the role of young people as multipliers, capable of sharing what they had learned within their own communities, schools, associations and informal networks. Finally, we wanted to produce concrete and reusable results, such as the digital manual “Digital Empathy”, social media campaigns, workshops and awareness-raising materials, in order to broaden the impact of the project even beyond the duration of the mobility.
