The project "YES – Youth Engagement in Sustainability" was born from the desire to address environmental issues that many local realities in Europe have in common, with the aim of raising awareness among young people and promoting sustainable practices. The initiative is the result of the commitment of Geo Vibe Lab and a network of youth associations that share the same mission: to educate about environmental sustainability through non-formal learning and active participation. The main objective of the project is to increase understanding and knowledge of sustainable development in all its dimensions - environmental, economic, social and cultural - by providing young people with the tools to critically evaluate their consumption habits and promote more responsible lifestyles. From the point of view of youth work, "YES" adopts an approach based on peer learning, sharing experiences and intercultural collaboration. The project does not limit itself to disseminating theoretical information, but includes practical activities, workshops and moments of reflection to stimulate a concrete change in individual and collective behaviors. Through participation in upcycling workshops, brainstorming sessions and practical simulations, young people will acquire useful and replicable skills within their local communities. Another key objective is to foster active participation in civil society. Young people will be encouraged to take initiative, develop future projects and raise awareness among others in their home contexts. The methodologies used, including role-playing games, open discussions and group activities, will help participants develop key soft skills, such as public speaking and teamwork, making them more prepared and aware in addressing sustainability challenges. A further objective of the project is to strengthen intercultural dialogue and European cooperation. Involving young people from Poland, Spain, France, the Czech Republic and Italy, "YES" will allow comparing different realities and sustainability strategies, creating a network of active and motivated young people who can continue to collaborate even beyond the duration of the project. Furthermore, the project aims to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme, fostering youth participation and promoting the concept of European citizenship. Participants will not only gain new knowledge and skills, but will also be encouraged to spread what they have learned in their communities, strengthening the impact of the initiative in the long term. Finally, "YES" places a strong emphasis on inclusion and diversity, ensuring equal opportunities for participation for young people with fewer opportunities and from disadvantaged backgrounds. Activities are designed to be accessible and engaging for all, fostering a climate of collaboration and mutual learning. Through these objectives, the project aims to generate a lasting impact, transforming young participants into real agents of change and promoting a culture of sustainability that can spread and take root in their communities.
