The “Sport & E+ducation” project was implemented to promote an active, healthy and conscious lifestyle among young people, using sport as an educational and participatory tool. The main need addressed by the project was to counter sedentary lifestyles, limited youth participation and lack of intercultural learning opportunities, especially in local and peripheral contexts. The main objectives were to promote positive values through sport, such as respect, inclusion, equity, cooperation and fair play; to develop transversal competences such as communication, teamwork, leadership, problem solving and adaptability; to strengthen young people’s physical and mental well-being; to foster intercultural dialogue and a sense of European belonging; and to involve participants in the creation of educational games based on physical activities and shared values. The project also aimed to enhance non-formal learning, encouraging young people to become more active in their communities and to use sport not only as physical activity, but also as a tool for inclusion, education and active citizenship.
