Objectives

The SHAPE project aimed to promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and civic engagement amongst young Europeans, providing them with the tools to contribute to social cohesion and the building of a united and peaceful European community. The main objectives achieved were: 1- Promoting civic engagement: through community service and intergenerational dialogue, participants developed a strong sense of responsibility and active citizenship. 2- Raising awareness of inequalities: through workshops and experiential simulations, young people reflected on the causes of local and global inequalities. 3- Strengthening European identity: public dialogue and transnational networks fostered social cohesion, leading to the creation of shared resources such as the ‘Youth Charter’ and the ‘Map of Peace Points’ 4- Development of transferable skills: participants acquired essential skills such as critical thinking, teamwork and leadership, which are fundamental to their personal and professional development. The project placed particular emphasis on the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring their active participation in shaping a better European community.
