Objectives

"AfroEcho" is a project designed to address the challenges of identity and integration faced by young second-generation migrants, using music as a tool to bridge cultural gaps and foster meaningful connections. The key objectives of the project are: -To create a dynamic space where 31 young participants - 25 youths and 5 group leaders, including both local European youth and second-generation migrants and 1 facilitator - can come together, share experiences, and create music collaboratively. This goal will be achieved through a Youth Exchange program, providing an opportunity for participants to explore music as a means of cultural exchange, encouraging mutual understanding and respect. -To facilitate the exchange of valuable methods among the 5 partner organizations involved in the project, aimed at helping young people express their cultural identities, integrate with their peers, and develop local youth support strategies. This will be realized through the development of a comprehensive video toolkit that highlights non-formal educational activities combining music with intercultural learning. -To build strong friendships at the local level by connecting second-generation migrant youth with local European youth. This will be done through the establishment of intercultural music groups in each partner community, where young people will meet regularly to create and perform music together, fostering greater cultural understanding. -To share insights and promote intercultural inclusion at an international level through the production of a video that presents practical suggestions for fostering cultural understanding in society. The video, featuring interviews with participants, will be disseminated worldwide to inspire communities and showcase the role of music in promoting social inclusion. Through collaboration, music, and community engagement, "AfroEcho" aims to create long-lasting connections and contribute to a more inclusive and harmonious society, both locally and globally.
