Green City Builders project is designed to empower young people by promoting environmental awareness, active citizenship, and sustainability leadership. Green City Builders project costs of a youth exchange that will provide learning opportunities related to sustainability for a group of 38 young people, through non-formal education and experiential learning. The project will provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to actively engage in sustainable urban development while promoting youth participation in environmental initiatives. The main objective of the project is to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability in urban areas, raising awareness of the multidisciplinarity of the concept of sustainability, instead of just focussing on environmental-related issues. We aim for the young participants to develop critical thinking skills that allow them to analyze local and global challenges and identify practical solutions. On the other hand, Green City Builders youth exchange project also seeks to promote healthy living, exploring the connection between sustainability and well-being. After participating in this youth exchange, the young people will return to their home countries empowered to be active citizens in their European contexts, starting by making their own daily decisions more sustainable. They will also learn to live with people from different countries and appreciate diversity positively, encouraging intercultural learning and creating a space where participants from different backgrounds can collaborate and share best practices. This goal will be achieved through interactive workshops, discussions, and direct interactions with local green leaders who will share their experiences and successes. We aim to support the personal development of young people, with a particular focus on those with fewer opportunities. We want every young person to have an optimal learning experience, and the exchange is designed to ensure that everyone can fully participate. The youth exchange activities planned during the project will help achieve these goals. It will also be a vital opportunity for young participants to gain a deeper understanding and respect for diverse cultures, and to build lasting connections between young people from different cultural backgrounds.
