Objectives

The main objective of the project was to reconnect young people with the true essence of food, recognising it as a fundamental element of culture, society, and the environment. Through the activities implemented, the project provided participants with a non-formal learning experience in which food was used as a tool for intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and collaboration. Young people from Italy, Spain, Greece, and Ukraine had the opportunity to discover and appreciate each other's culinary traditions, promoting the exchange of experiences, respect for cultural diversity, and the creation of meaningful relationships. The project also promoted greater awareness of the relationship between food, sustainability, and community, encouraging participants to reflect on their eating habits and on the importance of making more responsible and environmentally sustainable food choices. Through practical workshops, intercultural cooking activities, discussions, and reflection sessions, participants explored the role of food as a means of cultural expression, learning, and human connection. Another important objective achieved was the development of key transversal competences, including teamwork, cooperation, intercultural communication, time management, organisational skills, creativity, and problem-solving. Working in international groups encouraged mutual learning and enabled participants to develop greater autonomy, initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds. The project also enhanced participants' learning journey through the Youthpass process by providing opportunities for self-reflection and the recognition of the competences acquired throughout the exchange. This helped participants better understand the value of their learning experience and identify ways to transfer the knowledge and skills gained to their personal, educational, and professional lives. Among the project's objectives was the creation of a collective recipe book containing innovative, healthy, and sustainable recipes developed during the activities. This tangible outcome serves as a lasting resource that collects and disseminates the knowledge gained throughout the exchange while promoting the values of sustainability, cooperation, and intercultural dialogue beyond the project's duration. Finally, the project contributed to strengthening the network of relationships among young people and partner organisations, laying the foundations for future international cooperation and encouraging participants to engage in further Erasmus+ opportunities. The experience reinforced participants' sense of European citizenship, active participation, and awareness of the important role that young people can play in promoting a more inclusive, sustainable, and intercultural society.
