Objectives

The "Move and Thrive: A good injection of community wellbeing improvement" project is designed to promote physical and mental well-being through movement-based practices, particularly Yoga and Biodanza, while fostering personal growth, emotional intelligence, and social connection. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to empower young people by equipping them with practical tools to improve their health, manage stress, and enhance their overall quality of life. A primary objective is to raise awareness of the importance of daily exercise as a key factor in preventing non-communicable diseases and maintaining long-term physical health. Additionally, the project highlights the mental health benefits of movement, as regular physical activity has been shown to reduce anxiety, depression, and stress, while enhancing cognitive functions such as memory and learning capacity. In the context of youth work, the project focuses on holistic development, supporting young people in building resilience, self-regulation, and emotional intelligence—skills that are increasingly valued in the modern labor market but are rarely addressed in formal education. Yoga, for example, promotes self-awareness and emotional regulation through its four core components: postures, breathing, ethics, and meditation, which contribute to the development of key emotional intelligence pillars. These skills are essential for decision-making, teamwork, and leadership, making young people better equipped to navigate personal and professional challenges. While Yoga emphasizes individual growth, Biodanza complements it by fostering social integration and group connection. Through music, movement, and emotional expression, it strengthens empathy, social bonding, and self-confidence, helping young people develop stronger interpersonal relationships and a deeper sense of belonging. Another crucial objective of the project is to empower participants to become agents of change by equipping them with the knowledge and motivation to share what they learn with their communities. This is facilitated through peer learning, group reflections, and creative dissemination activities, such as the E-Book, which will serve as a collective resource for future reference and inspiration.
