With the E-mpathy project, we aimed to strengthen communication and international cooperation among young people with fewer opportunities who, due to personal, social, or physical barriers, have limited opportunities to participate in international mobility experiences. The aim was to demonstrate how digital empathy can become a concrete tool for creating meaningful relationships, fostering intercultural dialogue, and promoting social inclusion beyond geographical borders. To achieve this goal, 16 young people from Italy, Greece, Armenia, and Jordan, along with four group leaders, were involved in an international youth exchange in Italy. The group consisted of young people with migrant backgrounds, refugees, and people with disabilities, creating a truly inclusive learning environment where each participant was able to share their experiences and explore experiences different from their own. To raise awareness of digital empathy and inclusion among a wider audience, by giving space to participants' stories, storytelling videos were created, allowing each participant to share their personal journey. This helped highlight the challenges faced by young people with fewer opportunities and encouraged others to share their experiences. Another result of the project was the creation of a communication space that would continue to exist even after the mobility period. For this reason, participants created and launched a secure communication channel, which allowed them to maintain international contacts, share ideas, organize future activities, and also involve young people unable to physically participate in international exchanges. At the same time, partner organizations collaborated to exchange methodologies and best practices on digital inclusion and accessibility. This joint effort resulted in the Digital Inclusion Toolkit, designed as a practical tool for future use to support young people, educators, and organizations in promoting inclusion through digital tools. Finally, the project included local activities in the four partner countries, during which participants shared their learning with other young people, promoting the international communication channel, the videos produced, and the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Program.
