The project Back to the Roots: Empowering Youth in Mountain and Rural Areas was developed in response to common challenges faced by young people living in rural and mountain areas across Europe, such as depopulation, limited educational and employment opportunities, loss of local traditions and reduced community participation. The project involved young people from Italy, Greece, Spain and Lithuania and aimed to strengthen their active role in the sustainable development of their territories. The main objectives were to improve participants' entrepreneurial, social and intercultural competences; promote ethical and sustainable entrepreneurship; enhance local heritage and traditions as resources for community development; foster youth participation and establish new European cooperation networks among organisations and youth workers.
