The “Youth Leaders on Air” project includes a training course that will take place over seven days, from October 20 to 26, 2025, in Sant’Alessio Siculo, Italy, with an additional two days allocated for travel. During this intensive week, participants will focus on developing leadership skills, perfecting podcasting techniques, and exploring non-formal education methodologies. By the end of the training, participants will be able to design and implement innovative initiatives to effectively engage young people. The project will involve a total of 28 participants from seven partner countries: Italy, North Macedonia, Turkey, Spain, France, Austria, and Greece. Each partner will send four representatives, comprising three youth workers and one young aspiring leader. The youth workers will include educators, trainers, and socio-cultural facilitators who have experience working with diverse groups of young people, including those from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The young aspiring leader, one per country, will be selected based on a strong interest in leadership and the potential to grow into an influential promoter within their community. The group of participants will be diverse, with most members aged between 25 and 40 years, and gender balance will be ensured by including representatives from multicultural, rural, or disadvantaged contexts, to guarantee a variety of perspectives and experiences. The selection process will be transparent and aligned with the project’s objectives, giving priority to those who have demonstrated active interest during the preliminary phase and who are in need of new non-formal education techniques. Additional support will also be provided to address any logistical difficulties or specific needs. Following the course, follow-up activities will be initiated, including the production of podcast episodes that will address topics such as active participation, leadership, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, as well as the organization of local workshops in each partner country, following the “train-the-trainer” approach.
