Objectives

By implementing the project, we aimed to strengthen the competences, methodologies, and professional capacities of youth workers, equipping them to better respond to the increasingly complex challenges faced by young people today. These challenges include identity crises, emotional and psychological vulnerabilities, migration experiences, and the growing risk of social exclusion. The project was designed to promote innovative, empathetic, and inclusive approaches in youth work, supporting youth workers in fostering resilience, self-awareness, and active participation among young people. At the same time, it contributed to improving the overall quality and impact of youth work practices at local and European level. The main objectives of the project were: 1. Empowerment through autobiographical storytelling To equip participants with competences to use autobiographical storytelling as a tool for self-exploration and identity building, enabling young people to reflect on their experiences, strengthen self-awareness, and develop resilience and personal growth. 2. Artistic expression as a tool for inclusion and emotional development To introduce creative and non-formal methods (such as theatre, visual arts, and photo-based storytelling) that support emotional expression, acceptance of vulnerabilities, and personal empowerment, particularly for young people facing challenging life situations. 3. Development of digital competences through Digital Storytelling To provide participants with practical skills in using digital tools (e.g. Canva) to create multimedia narratives, enhancing digital literacy and enabling youth workers to engage young people through innovative and accessible formats. 4. Promotion of ethical storytelling and trauma-sensitive approaches To raise awareness about ethical considerations in sharing personal stories, including privacy, consent, and emotional safety, and to equip youth workers with tools to create safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments. 5. Fostering inclusion, connection, and social cohesion To use storytelling as a means to reduce isolation, promote empathy, and build inclusive communities, with particular attention to young people with fewer opportunities, such as migrants or those facing mental health challenges. 6. Capacity building of organisations and strengthening cooperation To enhance the capacity of partner organisations to operate in international and multicultural contexts, improve the quality of their youth work practices, and foster long-term cooperation, networking, and exchange of good practices. Overall, the project aimed to develop creative, reflective, and innovative tools that contribute to more inclusive, responsive, and impactful youth work. It generated a positive impact not only on the participating youth workers—by increasing their competences, confidence, and professional development—but also on their organisations and local communities, through a strong multiplier effect.
