The project "C-LEAD: Community-driven Learning, Education, and Design for Youth Workers" arises from the needs identified in the youth worker communities of the partnership and aims to create a tailored pathway based on these needs for youth workers, educators, and facilitators working with young people at risk of social exclusion, facing barriers to accessing educational and training opportunities, and not integrated into the social fabric of their communities. After conducting a survey in each community, the C-LEAD partners, with the support of KLAP, organized an online consultation with youth workers, trainers, educators, and facilitators within the network. The main needs identified are: 1. Youth workers need more inclusive and accessible educational tools to facilitate youth activation from the ground up and youth-led initiatives, based on local needs. 2. It is essential to strengthen the skills of youth workers in designing non-formal activities based on a needs-based approach, to understand and interpret the emerging needs of the community and co-design appropriate educational activities. 3. Youth workers need more flexible and transferable methodologies for different contexts, enabling them to respond to the evolving needs of communities while integrating the direct involvement of young people and community members in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities. 4. There is a lack of a structured network of youth workers and organizations promoting community-based education as a key approach for youth empowerment and local development, valuing the resources and skills present in the territories. The "C-LEAD" project was created to address these needs by integrating non-formal education with a community-based education (CBE) approach. This method makes youth work more accessible, meaningful, and transformative, rooted in the real-life experiences of young people and their communities. The 3 key principles of CBE are: contextualization, participatory ownership, and transferability of non-formal methods. The objectives of the Training Course, co-designed with the partners, are: 1. To provide tools for designing and facilitating educational activities using non-formal methods, rooted in the real needs of young people, and to encourage youth participation. 2. To enhance the skills of youth workers to support young people in turning ideas into concrete actions through participatory processes and promote change in their communities. 3. To create youth workers capable of designing and facilitating non-formal activities adaptable to the needs of communities and young people with fewer opportunities, based on the criteria of inclusivity, participation, and accessibility, and creating strategies for monitoring and evaluating quality educational pathways. 4. To promote the inclusion of disadvantaged youth through educational experiences that make them protagonists of social change. 5. To co-design innovative tools and methodologies for CBE, collected in a toolbox for youth workers and youth organizations. 6. To strengthen a network of youth workers and NGOs that exchange best practices and promote inclusive and sustainable educational approaches.
