Objectives

The growing number of youth with fewer opportunities with reinforced support needs requires interventions that take into account both the potential of each individual and that of the group as resources for developing skills and competencies and for building new spaces of relationship with the outside world. DOGs - Diversity of Groups is a training project with the overall objective of providing Youth Workers with the tools and skills to manage and support diversity within groups of youth and adolescents in nonformal education settings, enhancing peer education processes for collective learning. The specific objective is to provide Youth Workers with Animal-mediated NFE skills to activate inclusive strategies of valuing individual specificities in group learning processes, supporting youth and adolescents with fewer opportunities due to health problems, disabilities, educational difficulties, social and cultural barriers. Through the project, Youth Workers will learn to promote the potential of individuals, regardless of their difficulties and starting conditions, observe and understand the characteristics and needs of their youth group, learn about their preferences and learning patterns, find solutions to overcome obstacles, and provide the group with opportunities to experience themselves in a meaningful, satisfying, and challenging way.
