The S.A.F.E. Training Course aims at improving the professional skills of youth workers by equipping them with skills and knowledge on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) needed to create informed and supportive environments for young people. In doing so, the project seeks to bridge the gap in the implementation of CSE across Europe by addressing the widespread lack of proper training for youth workers, educators and other professionals who engage with young people. Indeed, while sexuality education has proven benefits for physical, psychological, and emotional well-being, as well as for gender equality and reducing gender-based violence, disparities exist in how it is taught, often due to a lack of proper training for professionals working with young people. Accordingly, the S.A.F.E project aims: - To equip Youth Workers with the competences and methodologies needed to effectively engage young people in Comprehensive Sexuality Education. - To challenge and dismantle the stigma and taboos surrounding sexuality and sexual health by empowering Youth Workers through non-formal education. - To counteract gender-based violence by promoting, through the youth workers, healthy and gender-equitable relationships and sexual health and well-being among young people. - To strengthen the capacity of youth organisations in promoting high-quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education through informal activities, and to facilitate intergenerational dialogue and collaboration across EU Member States. The Training Course offers a valuable opportunity for youth workers to enrich their professional practice. Comprehensive Sexuality Education provides cross-cutting insights that are applicable across various youth-related topics, enabling youth workers to address key issues such as sexuality, gender-based violence and sexual health. By integrating these topics into their work, youth workers will contribute to improving multiple aspects of young people's lives, fostering a more informed, supportive and safe environment. Additionally, the course encourages intergenerational and cross-cultural exchange, promoting mutual learning and strengthening the capacity of youth workers to support the well-being of youth more effectively.
