The main objective of the project is to propose an Interrail journey through the Balkan states and the Mediterranean coast of Europe, which have been key players in historical events that have helped shape the common roots we share as Europeans and have served as an important crossroads of cultures. Visiting such places will allow participants to reflect on themes such as intercultural dialogue, peace, discrimination, and European citizenship. In addition to this, the project aims to achieve several significant objectives in the context of the youth sector and contributes to the overall objectives of the Erasmus+ programme, promoting youth mobility, international cooperation and young people's personal development. In particular, we intend to achieve the following objectives: - promoting the inclusion of diversity, breaking down stereotypes and prejudices through travel, experimenting with cultural diversity; - promoting a sense of European belonging and European cohesion, strengthened by meeting new people, discovering new places, establishing friendships and international bounds; - promoting opportunities for youth mobility, contributing to the dissemination of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme, especially reaching the most peripheral or marginal areas; - promoting the empowerment of young people with fewer opportunities, offering them the opportunity to travel, access new opportunities and enjoy an experience of personal growth, developing useful skills for the future, for their orientation or for access to job market; - promoting active citizenship and civic commitment among young people, motivated by the travel experience and the desire to be a voice for change. The project consists of a trip lasting 21 days in total through 4 European countries. The target group is made up of 5 young people with fewer opportunities, coming from the Lunigiana area, in which our organization operates, and with obstacles of a socio-economic, cultural or geographical origin. The group is supported during the journey by a facilitator. The organization takes care to select young people using fair and transparent methods and to involve participants in all phases of the project, from preparation to follow-up.
