Objectives

Main Problems Facing European Youth in Rural Areas Limited Access to Opportunities: - Young people in rural areas encounter significant challenges in accessing education, employment, and training opportunities due to inadequate public transport and infrastructure. Social Isolation and Mental Health Issues: - The lack of social connections and support networks can lead to feelings of loneliness and low self-esteem, negatively impacting mental health and overall well-being. Digital Divide and Economic Challenges: - Poor internet connectivity and limited access to digital tools hinder young people's ability to stay connected, access educational resources, and participate in online learning. - Lack of self-confidence and difficulties in presenting oneself and advocating for one’s rights contribute to economic instability and limited career prospects. - Young people aged 17 to 25 from rural areas face additional economic challenges, as their parents may lack the financial means to support them through the final years of high school or university. This financial strain often forces students to work to support themselves, adversely affecting the quality of their studies and their ability to engage in meaningful learning. - The scarcity of time and opportunities hampers young leaders' development, limiting their self-esteem, leadership skills, and strong communication abilities.
