Objectives

EUth Connect was designed as a structured intercultural youth exchange aiming to transform abstract European values into practical and personally relevant experiences for young people. The project brought together 30 participants from Lithuania, Georgia, France, Ukraine, Czechia and Armenia supported by 6 group leaders and 2 trainers. Our intention was to create a safe and intellectually stimulating environment where young people could critically examine democracy, equality, human rights, rule of law and solidarity and reflect on how these principles apply in their everyday lives and local contexts. The need for the project was identified through preparatory discussions and youth consultations which indicated that while many young people are aware of European concepts their understanding often remains superficial or disconnected from practical civic engagement. In addition participants expressed interest in themes such as inclusion, discrimination reduction, active citizenship and wellbeing. EUth Connect aimed to respond directly to these needs by combining intercultural dialogue, experiential learning and structured reflection enabling participants to move from passive awareness toward active engagement. One of the central objectives was to strengthen participants sense of responsibility as active members of society. Through collaborative tasks, group based problem solving and facilitated discussions, young people were encouraged to articulate their perspectives, listen to others and co-create solutions. By interacting with peers from both EU Member States and Eastern Partnership countries participants gained a broader understanding of European cooperation beyond institutional narratives recognising shared challenges and opportunities. The project contributed to EU Youth Goals. It supported Connecting EU with youth by facilitating dialogue on how European cooperation influences daily life and future opportunities. It supported inclusive societies by involving 12 participants with fewer opportunities and embeding inclusive working methods that ensured equal participation. It contributed to mental health and wellbeing by integrating reflection circles, peer support mechanisms and discussions around emotional safety. It also reinforced space and participation for all by allowing participants to influence daily agendas, lead energisers and actively shape learning outcomes. The project was intentionally aligned with the horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ Program. Inclusion and diversity were addressed through balanced participant selection and tailored support measures. The green dimension was integrated not only through environmentally conscious logistics and encouragement of sustainable travel but also through awareness raising discussions and outdoor learning elements. The digital dimension was incorporated via online preparation, communication platforms and activities addressing media literacy and interpretation of information. Participatory methods were embeded throughout the exchange ensuring that learning remained youth centred and interactive. Another objective was competence development. Through non formal education methods, daily evaluations and structured Youthpass reflection participants enhanced skills including intercultural communication, teamwork, critical thinking, digital awareness and initiative taking. These competences were not treated as abstract goals but were regularly discussed and self assessed, increasing participants awareness of their personal growth. Beyond individual development EUth Connect aimed to strengthen organisational capacity and long term cooperation. As a newcomer in KA152 youth exchanges Youth Verse LT sought to reinforce its project management, coordination and partnership building competences. Importance was placed on maintaining cooperation with partners from Ukraine and other Eastern Partnership countries contributing to solidarity and sustained European dialogue in a geopolitical context. The project sought to empower young people to see European values as living commitments rather than distant concepts. By combining intercultural exchange, inclusive participation, environmental sensitivity and digital awareness EUth Connect aimed to equip participants with practical skills, confidence and motivation to contribute constructively to their communities and to the broader European civic space.
