The aim of the project is to promote empathy as a tool to have a more inclusive society and to promote the importance of understanding cultural diversity to achieve it. This project seeks to address this issue by using a creative and engaging approach: storytelling and mythology. The goal is to explore the power of stories and storytelling in stepping into someone else’s shoes, understanding their feelings and values. The focus will be put on the earliest form of written stories that humans crafted across the globe to question and interpret the world around them: myths. Myths promote empathy on multiple levels and exemplify how stories can help us reflect on values and emotions through the use of symbols. They also encourage cultural awareness and intercultural dialogue. We will analyze the basic components of a story and identify which are the powerful tools that make storytelling capable of fostering empathy and going beyond cultural diversity. We will explore the shared values and struggles presented in myths from an intercultural perspective, engaging with people and mythology from diverse backgrounds and sharing the common ones. In addition to its impact on individuals, the project contributes to the broader goals of Erasmus+ by promoting active citizenship, intercultural learning, and social inclusion. By bringing together young people from different countries and backgrounds, it creates a space where they can share experiences, learn from each other, and develop a sense of European identity. This experience will inspire them to continue engaging in mobility opportunities, volunteer work, and initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion in their communities. Objectives Exploring the power of stories and storytelling to promote self-reflection and empathy Promote cultural diversity by exploring and sharing European myths discovering cultural similarities and differences Understand storytelling forms and digital storytelling techniques Develop the ability to create stories to foster sensitivity and empathy
