Unmute the message project aims to empower young people, particularly those from underrepresented and marginalized communities, by providing them with the tools and skills to actively participate in society, promote social inclusion, and raise awareness about critical issues such as racism, discrimination, and social exclusion. Through the use of creative expression, including music, arts, and digital media, participants will gain the confidence to advocate for social change within their communities, contributing to the broader goals of inclusivity and active citizenship. By facilitating intercultural dialogue and collaboration between youth from different countries, the project will foster a sense of European identity, strengthen solidarity, and promote mutual understanding among young people from diverse backgrounds. One of the primary objectives is to develop participants' advocacy skills, empowering them to use arts and digital media as powerful tools for raising awareness on social issues. We aim for at least 80% of participants to create a piece of art or music that reflects their commitment to inclusivity, which will serve as a means of expression and advocacy in their communities. The project will also focus on developing digital skills, enabling participants to create impactful social media campaigns and self-produced content that addresses racism, discrimination, and social inequality. Through workshops and hands-on training, participants will learn to use platforms such as social media, blogs, and videos to advocate for social change, which will increase their capacity for engagement and self-expression. Another key objective is to foster a deeper understanding of intercultural dialogue, enhancing participants' ability to engage meaningfully with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. This will be achieved through collaborative work on creative projects, group discussions, and shared activities. We expect that by the end of the project, at least 90% of participants will report a stronger sense of European unity and an increased appreciation for cultural diversity. These activities will also build participants' confidence in engaging in democratic processes and social issues, helping them to see themselves as active citizens within both their local communities and the broader European context. Additionally, the project aims to address the issue of youth disengagement and lack of advocacy skills, particularly among young people from rural or disadvantaged areas. By providing young people with the opportunity to participate in a youth exchange, they will not only develop their creative and technical skills but also gain the tools to become advocates for social change. The project will create a platform for participants to connect with like-minded peers, mentors, and community leaders, fostering an ongoing sense of solidarity and social responsibility. This collaborative environment will encourage participants to take leadership roles in their communities, promoting inclusive values and active citizenship. Lastly, the project aims to create a lasting impact beyond the immediate exchange by ensuring that participants continue their advocacy work and share their newly acquired skills with others. We will facilitate follow-up activities such as local workshops, performances, and digital campaigns that will allow participants to apply what they’ve learned and contribute to the sustainability of the project's impact. Through continuous support and mentoring, we will encourage participants to implement their own community initiatives, further promoting the project's values of inclusivity, democracy, and social cohesion.
