Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to effectively support and empower young migrants and refugees, fostering their social inclusion and active participation in European societies. Given the increasing migration flows and the challenges of integration, it is essential that youth workers are equipped with the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to address the realities faced by young people with migrant backgrounds. The project will provide a comprehensive learning experience that not only enhances professional competencies but also encourages collaboration and innovation in youth work practice. One of the key objectives is to deepen youth workers' understanding of migration-related challenges, including legal, social, and psychological aspects. By exploring these topics through non-formal education, youth workers will gain insights into the systemic barriers faced by young migrants and learn strategies to support them in overcoming these obstacles. The training will also focus on improving intercultural communication skills, helping youth workers foster dialogue and mutual understanding in diverse communities. Another core objective is to equip youth workers with practical tools and methodologies that they can implement in their daily work. This includes strategies for countering discrimination, promoting inclusive practices, and creating safe spaces where young migrants can express themselves and engage in their new communities. The project will provide youth workers with adaptable, hands-on methods that they can tailor to their local contexts, ensuring long-term applicability and sustainability. Additionally, we aim to facilitate collaboration among youth workers from different European countries, enabling them to share best practices, challenges, and innovative approaches to migrant inclusion. The exchange of experiences will not only enhance participants' competencies but also contribute to a stronger, more interconnected network of professionals dedicated to supporting migrant youth. This collaboration will extend beyond the training course, as participants will be encouraged to continue working together on follow-up initiatives, joint projects, and policy advocacy efforts. Finally, the project seeks to inspire a shift in perspectives by challenging stereotypes and misconceptions about migration. Through experiential learning activities, storytelling, and direct engagement with case studies, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own biases and develop a more empathetic and human-centered approach to working with young migrants.
