By implementing the project “Green Youth Life”, the main objective was to inspire and prepare young people to become “green mentors” who are able to promote sustainable lifestyles and awareness of environmental protection within their local communities, as well as among their peers. The project was based on the intention to provide young people with practical knowledge about ecology, healthy living, and nature protection, thereby motivating them to create real changes in their own behaviour and that of others. The specific objectives of the project were: - learn about a sustainable approach to the environment together with other young people - promote sustainable (smart and intuitive) gardening in the local community - exchange knowledge about nature and the environment in participants’ countries - create practical steps towards a greener lifestyle - support local communities, nature, and the environment through sustainable daily practices - develop a network of “green” youth mentors - promote eco-friendly attitudes towards food, cosmetics, and fashion - promote the Erasmus+ Programm - foster integration among young people from Europe and beyond - promote the European Union The motivation for the project stemmed from the understanding that young people will be the future caretakers of nature and urban green spaces. Therefore, it was essential to apply non-formal education methods, learning-by-doing principles, and a peer-to-peer approach. It was important that young people themselves developed workshops and campaigns to raise awareness within society. The project was designed to directly support the European Green Deal strategy by demonstrating that even small, individual actions contribute to achieving larger climate goals.
