As the team of MO(ve)MENT is closely working with various youth groups and other youth organizations and youth workers on a daily basis, we have clarified and specified the needs of young people and also how these needs could be met by offering the knowledge and tools to the youth workers. It is important for young people to have a space where they can feel like they are a part of the community and to be surrounded by active young people. Youth workers play a significant and considerable part in creating such an environment for youths personal and social development. With this project we aim to tackle the challenges and struggles that people working in the field of youth face and to offer them a space for enriching their tool kit of methods and skills they would like to have and be able to use in order to better the quality of their work and the support they can offer to youth and other youth workers. Some of the identified challenges for youth and youth workers being: - lack of tools and skills that can assist and support youth worker’s own personal and other youngster’s mental health needs and emotional well-being struggles; - deficiency of essential skills for creative, inclusive and both - professional and personal growth facilitating practices; - youth workers often feel uncertain in facilitating structured and spontaneous learning; - many youth workers lack creative tools to engage youth and adapt to different learning styles. - nowadays young people are becoming more and more distanced and remote from nature, its benefits, and the connection between us and all living things. And it is increasingly damaging the abilities to be present, calm, concentrated, motivated, and grounded. - young people struggle with being confident and that reduces their ability to take initiative, thus we want to equip youth workers with knowledge, confidence and practicals skills they could use to support youth into becoming more proactive; ReFrame will put an emphasis on using outdoor challenges, unpredictability for resilience building and nature based elements through experiential learning from one side, and exploring the interpersonal processes to build stronger sense of one’s self and awareness about the processes that might be happening in youth from the other side through creative expression- dance, improvisation and theatrical exercises and good quality facilitation and activity building.. The project “ReFrame” will focus on creating processes where participants can explore the curiosity within their life’s challenges and the importance of tackling them, build resilience when dealing with unpredictable situations, and better understand and acknowledge their roles in groups and systems to which they belong. The project encourages hands-on learning and personal growth by using methods such as non-formal and outdoor education, movement and improvisation, creativity, and nature as a resource. For the project we’re creating two main focus flows: Focus on Non-Formal Education and Facilitation: Through this key focus we will be equipping participants with essential skills to create engaging and impactful learning experiences. We will provide participants with base facilitation skills, enabling them to lead group processes, design and deliver learning experiences. By understanding how to facilitate both structured and also spontaneous learning moments, participants will gain confidence in their ability to support self-directed learning for youth. Creativity as a Tool for Learning and Growth: Another crucial aspect of this training is creativity as a tool for learning, self-expression, and problem-solving and its connection with facilitation. Creativity is not just about artistic skills—it is about finding innovative ways to connect with youth, adapt to different learning styles, and foster curiosity. Through methods such as improvisation, movement, dance, and theatre participants will develop new ways to inspire young people and themselves. Creative methodologies will be explored as a means to increase motivation, self-awareness, and resilience, ensuring that youth workers leave with practical tools to implement creativity in their own youth work settings and program creation processes. Other objectives of the project: - to enhance the competencies such as soft skills (communication & active listening, creativity, problem-solving), resilience and adaptability, facilitation skills, and self-awareness of young people that work with youth young people and groups; - to foster creativity and curiosity in working with young people; - to enrich participant knowledge about outdoor education and its role in non-formal learning, and to provide participants with tools on how to tackle nature elements and resources in youth work.
