The aim of the project “Beyond the Borders” was to provide young people with visual impairments with the opportunity to explore Europe in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, while at the same time developing their independence, social skills, and intercultural competences. The main objectives of the project were to strengthen the young participants’ self-confidence and belief in their own abilities, to promote independence in everyday situations, and to develop orientation and decision-making skills in unfamiliar environments. In addition, the project aimed to improve communication and teamwork skills, foster intercultural understanding, and reinforce a sense of belonging to the European Union. The project promoted inclusion and equal opportunities, demonstrating that young people with visual impairments can fully participate in international mobility activities when an individually adapted and supportive learning and travel process is ensured.
