Our project is designed by young people for young people aiming to create a unique and transformative experience for young people by empowering them to become advocates for gender equality in their communities. This project is designed to address pressing social issues while at the same time equipping participants with relevant knowledge, skills and competencies needed to drive positive change on a local level. By bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds, including those with fewer opportunities, we aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. One of the primary objectives of the project is to raise awareness among participants about the gender inequalities and its impact. Through workshops, discussions and practical activities they will explore the key concepts of gender equality they will learn how to challenge stereotypes and how to use journalism and media tools for the promotion of the project’s topic. They will learn how these gender equality manifests in different contexts, such as education, employment, and media, and explore strategies for addressing them. For example, in Albania, according to UNDP more than 30% of people think that men have an advantage when applying for a job. In North Macedonia, according to the World bank in 2021 only 46.5% of women were employed, compared to 63.2% of men, and these differences can be found in all other partner countries involved in the project. Another key objective of this project is to build and develop practical skills among participants in order to take action as active advocates for gender equality. They will engage in journalism and content creation such as videos, articles and blogs. Through the local workshops we will organize in all partner countries they will have the opportunity to present their gained skills and knowledge and inspire other young people to take action towards gender equality in their societies. The project also places a strong emphasis on inclusion and diversity, ensuring that young people with fewer opportunities are actively involved and supported. This includes participants from rural areas, minority groups, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and those with disabilities. By adapting activities to meet diverse needs and providing necessary support, such as mentoring and language assistance, we aim to break down barriers and create a truly inclusive environment. In addition to promoting gender equality, the project seeks to foster intercultural learning and collaboration. By bringing together young people from different countries and cultural backgrounds, we aim to build mutual understanding, respect, and solidarity. Participants will engage in cultural exchanges, collaborative activities, and reflective discussions, helping them appreciate diverse perspectives and develop a global mindset. Finally, the project integrates sustainable practices into its design and implementation, encouraging participants to adopt eco-friendly behaviors and explore the intersection of gender equality and environmental sustainability. By organizing activities that promote sustainability, such as reducing waste and using local resources, we aim to inspire young people to become advocates for both social and environmental justice.
