Objectives

Discrimination remains a major challenge for young people in Europe, both online and offline. Despite their strong commitment to European unity and belief in equality and tolerance, nationalism and racism continue to undermine integration. Additionally, increasing political and ideological polarization is deepening social tensions. Conflicts persist between different nations, yet efforts to bridge these divides remain insufficient. The post-pandemic world has further fueled populism and radicalization, often targeting ethnic and national identities. Reports indicate a rise in antisemitism, while minority groups continue to struggle for recognition and inclusion. To address these divisions, promoting intercultural exchange is crucial in reducing discrimination and promoting solidarity. This project aims to counteract these negative trends by encouraging dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among young people. The rise of digital communication has intensified the above issues even further, with misinformation, fake news, and hate speech amplifying tensions. Given their active presence on social media, young people are particularly vulnerable to these threats. With Internet accessibility growing, 87% of European households and 96% of young people aged 16-29 using it daily, digital misinformation poses a serious threat to democracy and peace. Social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, X and Facebook facilitate the spread of nationalism, racism, and discrimination, making critical thinking skills essential. The European Commission report found that 82% of Europeans recognise misinformation as a major issue. This project will equip young people with the tools to use digital spaces responsibly and counter the spread of harmful narratives. By bringing together young participants from six European countries, this project will create a platform for discussing shared challenges and broadening perspectives. Through cultural dialogue, participants will learn to appreciate diversity, identify common struggles, and forge lasting cross-border connections. Providing a space where young people can freely express themselves while respecting one another’s experiences is essential. In such diverse international settings, embracing differences rather than resisting them enriches learning and strengthens cooperation. Ultimately, the youth exchange aims to promote a stronger sense of belonging to the European community. Project objectives: Promote cultural dialogue and debate between participated countries Promote non-formal education and empower soft skills of young people Educate young people about misinformation, disinformation, fake news and clickbaits and warn them about impairs that existing on internet Change the narrative among youth regarding stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination and prevent radicalization Create a space for exchanging good practises in participating countries Build stronger feeling of belonging to the European community by overcoming stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination Promoting intercultural exchange and achieving diversity and unity. Point out that differences are good but expressed in a cultural and respectful way. Through non-formal education on stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, both online and offline, participants will develop media literacy skills to distinguish between fake news, disinformation, misinformation and clickbaits. Intercultural exchange will improve their appreciation of diverse cultures, encouraging respect and unity. To achieve these goals, the project will use non-formal and informal methods that promote awareness and engagement. Strengthening soft skills will enable participants to build connections across cultures and address social issues. Activities such as the privilege walk, role-playing debates, and theater-based methods will encourage active listening and non-violent communication, promoting constructive dialogue on cultural differences. By empowering young people with these skills, the project aims to bridge divides and promote a more inclusive European society.
