The main objective of our project, Pathways to Europe: Discovering History and Culture, was to provide young people with fewer opportunities from the Polog region in North Macedonia with equitable access to international mobility and cultural education. By implementing two distinct DiscoverEU travel activities, we aimed to empower these young participants to break through socio-economic, geographical, and cultural barriers. We sought to foster personal growth, enhance their understanding of European history and contemporary culture, and cultivate a stronger sense of European identity and solidarity. Through this initiative, we also aimed to equip participants with essential life skills, including intercultural communication, independence, and adaptability, while creating a supportive framework that ensures their inclusion and active participation on an equal footing with their peers.
