Our project aims to harness the transformative power of digital storytelling to advance peacebuilding and conflict resolution among young people. By integrating digital media into traditional storytelling methods, we strive to provide youth and youth workers with innovative tools that facilitate deeper understanding and resolution of conflicts. The project seeks to empower participants with the digital skills necessary to create and share compelling narratives that promote peace, understanding, and empathy across diverse cultural backgrounds. Objectives from the Perspective of Youth Work Practice: We aim to improve the digital competencies of young people and youth workers, enabling them to effectively use digital platforms for storytelling. This involves training in the technical aspects of digital content creation, such as video editing, sound design, and the use of storytelling software, which are crucial for engaging and impactful communication in today's digital age. Through the project, participants will learn how to utilize storytelling as a means to express personal and community narratives that may otherwise contribute to misunderstandings or conflict. The focus will be on understanding different perspectives, fostering empathy, and using narrative as a tool for peacebuilding and conflict prevention. The project aims to boost civic engagement and participation in democratic processes by encouraging young people to share their stories. Participants will be encouraged to tackle topics related to social issues, human rights, and community challenges, thereby using their narratives to positively influence and engage in societal development. The project will facilitate exchanges between participants from different cultural backgrounds, particularly focusing on regions with diverse histories of conflict. These interactions are designed to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and promote a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and experiences. The project will contribute to the professional development of youth workers by integrating innovative digital tools and storytelling techniques into youth work. Participants will acquire new methods and approaches that can be adapted to various youth work settings, enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of their work with young people. Through these objectives, our project aims to equip young people and youth workers with the skills and knowledge to use digital storytelling as a powerful tool for social change, enabling them to contribute actively to building more inclusive and peaceful communities. The project’s outcomes are expected to have a lasting impact on participants and their organizations, promoting sustainable practices in youth work and conflict resolution.
