The project "Lemme Tell You" was designed for young people and youth with fewer opportunities, with the aim of increasing their skills (communication, self-expression, creativity, and critical thinking), encouraging active participation in society, and supporting community building, using storytelling as the central tool. The project grew out of the work Synchro already does with young people: organising workshops where they express their qualities and shape what they find important in society, and creating storytelling gatherings open to all backgrounds and ages to reduce loneliness and strengthen a sense of belonging through shared experiences. In dialogue with our partner organisations and the youth involved, this idea developed into a youth exchange, with the further intention of carrying its impact into the local communities of each partner and reaching other vulnerable groups there. At its heart, the project used storytelling as a practical and accessible way for young people to express themselves, connect with others, and participate more actively in their communities. We aimed to encourage them to express themselves, their opinions, and viewpoints and ultimately connect locally with vulnerable groups, while, this way, reduce polarisation and division in society. Therefore, the vision behind the project was to move from individual expression towards collective understanding and finally towards community engagement. This thread shaped every phase of the project, from preparation, through the youth exchange, to the local actions carried out in each country. The objectives of the project were the following: • To bring 8 group leaders and 8 young people from vulnerable backgrounds together in an APV to prepare the youth exchange in all its aspects • To bring 32 youth aged 18-30 and 8 group leaders together in an exchange to exchange best practices while developing and implementing storytelling activities. • To increase communication, self-expression, critical thinking, and creativity skills of 40 youth across the EU, by using storytelling as a tool. • To increase cultural understanding by engaging with different cultures and perspectives, enriching viewpoints of similarities and differences in the EU, and supporting democratic participation. • To create a Living Library during the YE where the local community is included to increase understanding, encourage open dialogue, and support social cohesion. • To evaluate the outcomes of the project through 40 Evaluation forms and Youth passes. • To create at least 16 workshops (two/country) in 8 local communities for vulnerable groups • Create long-lasting friendships by implementing activities, sharing personal narratives, and living together for 10 days. By engaging with different cultures and backgrounds, we also aimed to enhance cultural understanding and increase appreciation for both similarities and differences within the EU, thus contributing to EU cohesion and breaking down stereotypes and prejudices. We managed to create an unique non-formal learning experience centered on storytelling activities and the exchange of best practices between young people from different parts of Europe.
