The RESILIENT FUTURE youth exchange successfully addressed the needs and the learning goals of participants as initially envisioned during the project co-creation process. Namely, the youth exchange aimed to support young people in developing practical skills and healthy habits that improve their mental and physical well-being - understanding the impact of daily habits on their mental and physical health, strengthen emotional resilience and increase self-confidence and social inclusion of youngsters facing fewer opportunities and disabilities. The project brought together 24 participants from Curacao, Turkey, Greece and Austria to learn how everyday habits influence mental health and to explore simple and sustainable techniques for managing stress, anxiety and emotions. The main objectives were to raise awareness about well-being and healthy lifestyles, to help participants develop practical resilience skills such as breathing techniques, mindfulness and physical activity and to strengthen emotional literacy and self-awareness.Another important objective was to promote social inclusion, especially through the active participation of young people with fewer opportunities, including non-speaking deaf participants and through adapted group activities that ensured equal participation. This project also aimed to strengthen teamwork, intercultural understanding and social connections by creating a supportive and safe learning environment where participanting youth could freely express themselves, cooperate in diverse groups and gain new friends. Experienced group leaders, accompanying persons and a facilitator played a crucial role in creating this welcoming and open environment. As a result of the project, participants reported increased confidence, improved communication skills, stronger intercultural understanding and better knowledge of practical tools for managing stress and emotions in their daily lives. After 5 months of youth exchange, many participants confirmed that they continue using techniques such as breathing exercises, meditation and physical activity after the exchange, showing that the project achieved lasting learning outcomes.
