Objectives

With Creative Recycle, we wanted to create an international learning experience where young people could explore sustainability in a practical, creative and accessible way. The main objective was to connect environmental awareness with art, recycling and youth participation. We wanted participants to understand that sustainability is not only a theoretical topic, but something they can experience, question and translate into concrete action in their own lives and communities. The project aimed to increase young people’s awareness of environmental challenges such as waste, pollution, overconsumption and climate change. At the same time, we wanted to show how creativity and artistic expression can be used to communicate important social and environmental messages. Through upcycling, eco-art, public creative outputs and practical sustainability actions, participants learned how reused materials and creative methods can become tools for awareness-raising and community engagement. Another important objective was to strengthen intercultural learning. The project brought together young people from different countries and backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to compare local realities, share environmental challenges from their own communities and learn from each other’s perspectives. By working in mixed international groups, participants developed cooperation, communication and intercultural competences. The project also aimed to support young people with fewer opportunities. We wanted to offer a safe, inclusive and well-supported Erasmus+ experience to participants who do not always have easy access to international mobility. Through preparation, group leader support, daily reflection moments and an inclusive non-formal learning environment, we aimed to make participation possible and meaningful for all young people involved. Finally, we wanted the project to create impact beyond the mobility itself. Participants were encouraged to share their learning through social media, local follow-up activities, creative outputs and partner networks. In this way, Creative Recycle aimed to inspire further youth-led action around sustainability, creativity and active citizenship after the youth exchange.
