The core concept of the Trails of Youthwork project was to deliver holistic training centered on Outdoor Adventure Education, blending theoretical frameworks with practical modules. The program sought to endow participants with knowledge of key educational models and materials, alongside essential hands-on experience. The project aimed to increase the quality and relevance of youth work and educational programs in Europe by improving participating actors’ (organizations, individuals, networks) relevant competencies and promoting active, holistic, learner-oriented, adventure & nature-based, practices in youth work. The course set the following SMART objectives: - To reflect on the current, real challenges and behavior patterns of young people in Europe and evaluate the role of the youth workers in this context. - To equip youth workers and educators with effective and relevant strategies, approaches and methods to address these challenges in their local context. - To showcase the benefits and advantages of Outdoor Adventure Education as a holistic, healthy, and sustainable learning approach in youth work; - To examine, practice and internalize the use of nature in the personal and professional growth of young people. - To improve participants' soft skills and competencies (Such as communication, teamwork, resilience, positive leadership, confidence, and crisis response) for working with young people. - To improve participants' hard skills, such as trip planning, safety & first aid, and risk management, needed for running activities within an Outdoor Adventure Education framework. - To reflect on personal values, strengths and limitations among participants based on the practical experience in order to provide deeper awareness and basis for personal and professional growth.
