Objectives

"From Piece to Peace" was a training course for youth and social workers, as well as community leaders from seven countries. The central idea was that peace begins within and radiates outward, influencing how individuals handle conflict in personal, community, and global contexts. The project aimed to strengthen youth workers capacity to manage conflict, prevent burnout, and apply nonviolent communication, mediation, and intercultural dialogue in their daily practice. It responded to concrete needs within the partnership: stress among youth workers, limited access to peacebuilding tools, and a lack of adaptable, context-based training. The learning was based on non-formal education methods, guided reflection, and peer exchange, ensuring real-life application. The specific objectives were: 1. Strengthen peacebuilding skills – equipping youth workers with practical tools for conflict transformation and intercultural sensitivity. 2. Promote emotional resilience and inner peace – through mindfulness, self-reflection, and mental health practices. 3. Foster interpersonal and community peace – enabling participants to mediate conflicts and support harmony in their environments. 4. Enhance intercultural understanding – by challenging stereotypes and improving cross-cultural communication. 5. Connect local and global peacebuilding – helping participants see how local actions relate to global issues, and empowering them as active European citizens.
