Objectives

"Frame, Facilitate, Flow" project aimed to equip 32 youth workers from eight partner organisations across seven countries with facilitation skills rooted in applied theatre, embodiment practices, and critical reflection, in order to improve their ability to design and lead engaging, inclusive educational activities for young people. The project equipped 32 youth workers with practical facilitation competences based on three key dimensions: - Mindset: developing self-awareness, empathy, adaptability, and reflective practice - Language and body: strengthening inclusive communication, embodiment, and presence in group work - Session structure and flow: improving the design and facilitation of impactful educational activities tailored to diverse groups The objectives of the project were the following: - Deliver an 8-day training course focused on empowering 32 youth workers to create engaging educational events for young people through applied theater and critical reflection, focusing on increasing their facilitation methods through applied theatre - mindset, language, and body, and structuring impactful sessions that lead to inclusion - Equip participants with effective tools to address youth work challenges and give them methods to create inclusive spaces, especially for youth with fewer opportunities - Contribute to social inclusion and innovation in youth work by adopting Applied theater practices in a training context - Organize 8 local events to disseminate knowledge and practices to other youth workers and members of the partner organizations - Organize 8 local workshops for the youth in their communities - Create a series of 9 short videos about innovative ways to facilitate learning in groups of youth using applied theatre and critical reflection - Create a self-reflection journal for youth workers, including a list of questions and self-reflection exercises, to evaluate their approach in working with groups. It will be shared with partner organizations and youth workers across Europe - Evaluate learnings through evaluation forms, Youthpasses, and surveys with participants and partner organizations while also collecting feedback from local communities. The project also aimed to address a broader challenge identified through needs assessment: youth workers across our partner organisations reported difficulty structuring engaging sessions, using inclusive language, managing group dynamics, and creating safe spaces for diverse and disadvantaged youth. By combining experiential, theatre-based methodology with structured reflection and peer learning, we aimed to strengthen the long-term capacity of participating organisations to deliver high-quality, inclusive youth work, and to contribute this innovative methodology to the wider European youth work community through our dissemination materials and network.
