The project "Building Bridges: Inclusive and Meaningful Youth Participation" aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers, enabling them to facilitate inclusive, accessible, and meaningful youth participation. This is particularly relevant in the European and Caribbean contexts, where significant disparities exist in access to youth participation programs and the extent to which young people can influence decision-making processes. Through training, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, this project provides youth workers with the tools, methodologies, and skills needed to actively and structurally engage young people—especially those from underrepresented groups—in participation initiatives. Specific Objectives of the Project: - Improving the quality of youth participation practices: Youth workers will learn how to develop and apply inclusive and accessible participation methodologies, ensuring that young people have a meaningful voice and influence within their communities, organizations, and policymaking processes. - Strengthening the capacity of youth organizations: By developing and implementing a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework, organizations will be able to measure, evaluate, and enhance the impact and effectiveness of their youth participation activities. This will support youth organizations in working more sustainably and effectively. - Fostering international collaboration between Europe and the Caribbean: The project brings together European and Caribbean youth workers to exchange knowledge and best practices, ensuring that youth participation is reinforced both locally and internationally. This collaboration contributes to a more inclusive and global vision for youth policy and participation. - Developing concrete, transferable tools and materials: The project will result in a practical E-Handbook and a project video on inclusive youth participation and MEAL methodologies. These resources will be widely distributed to ensure that other youth workers and organizations can apply these tools in their own work. - Structurally integrating youth participation into policymaking: The project encourages youth workers to strengthen existing youth participation initiatives, create new ones, and actively collaborate with policymakers. The ultimate goal is for young people to gain a structural voice in policy processes, ensuring that their perspectives and needs are genuinely incorporated into decision-making at both local and international levels. This project invests in the professionalization of youth workers, enhances the impact of youth participation within organizations and communities, and contributes to a more sustainable and inclusive participation culture between Europe and the Caribbean.
