Our goal in carrying out this project was to help youths between the ages of 15 and 18 identify their strengths, develop resilience, and enhance their social and emotional competencies. Our goal was to give participants practical experiences that would improve their leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. By allowing Georgian participants to live with Norwegian host families, we hoped to promote mutual respect and intercultural communication through cultural exchange. We hoped that these friendships and common experiences would help them feel more a part of European identity and values. The project's objectives were: Personal Development & Life Skills – Through outdoor challenges and non-formal education, the project promoted self-exploration and helped participants develop their emotional intelligence, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability. Cultural Exchange: Through immersive cultural experiences, we established chances to dispel stereotypes, develop intercultural communication abilities, and cultivate enduring friendships. Outdoor and Experiential Learning: Participants developed self-assurance, tenacity, and a healthy lifestyle through hiking, climbing, kayaking, and morning workouts. These outdoor activities also encouraged cooperation and support among participants. Developing Social and Emotional Skills: The project's goal was to promote self-reflection and personal development while enhancing empathy, active listening, and conflict resolution abilities. Finally, we aimed to prepare participants for future leadership roles by giving them useful tools to set personal goals, accept responsibility, and use their newly acquired competencies in their communities.
