The project focuses on upskilling workers in the youth care sector, specifically those working with young people with disabilities. The participating organizations are dedicated to providing services to disabled young people, and the project primarily targets rehabilitation centers in the Caucasus region, particularly in Armenia. The goal is to develop a holistic approach involving three key elements: young people rehabilitation NGOs, and the creation of an inclusive environment. This multifaceted approach aims to improve services and empowerment for young people with disabilities and their families. The project is designed to achieve several key objectives: Upskilling Workers in the Youth Care Field: A primary goal is to enhance the skills of workers in youth care organizations by fostering an individualized, person-centered approach. This involves changing the perspective on rehabilitation and social services, particularly from the viewpoint of mothers of children with disabilities. By deepening the understanding of how rehabilitation services impact families, the project aims to make these services more effective and aligned with the real needs of children and their caregivers. Improving Organizational Challenges: The project also seeks to address various internal challenges within the participating organizations, including improving staff care, promoting self-care, and building resilience to external pressures such as climate change. These areas are crucial to maintaining a healthy and sustainable workforce, ensuring that the organizations can continue to provide high-quality services to their clients in the long term. Strengthening Civil Society Stakeholders: Another critical aspect of the project is the empowerment of carers, with a specific focus on women. Women, who often play a central role in caregiving, face significant structural discrimination in their everyday lives due to their responsibilities in caring for children with disabilities. The project aims to provide targeted women’s empowerment programs that will help reduce this discrimination and offer women more opportunities for personal and professional development. In summary, this project aims to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for young people with disabilities by upskilling workers in youth care and addressing organizational challenges. The two pillars—fostering professional skills and strengthening civil society organizations—are designed to work together to improve both the quality of services provided and the internal dynamics of the organizations. By focusing on the empowerment of women caregivers and aligning with international human rights frameworks, the project aims to promote long-term sustainability and create a more inclusive society for young people with disabilities. To make this project inclusive we also invite young people with disabilities to join the mobilities in order to guide us and or mindset towards their mindset towards the service we provide.
