The project achieved its objectives to a very high degree. Participants strengthened their competences in using sports for social inclusion through a balanced mix of workshops, peer-learning sessions, community input, and practical basketball activities with local youth. A strong peer-learning environment was created, where participants openly shared experiences, compared challenges, and developed solutions together. The workshops facilitated by students from Østfold University College contributed greatly to this, encouraging reflection and collaboration across countries. The involvement of Kirkens Bymisjon, Fredrikstad Municipality, Etaten Aktive Liv, and FRID deepened participants’ understanding of how inclusion can be supported through cooperation between youth workers, social services, and community organisations. Evening basketball sessions allowed participants to apply inclusive coaching methods in real situations, meet local children and youth, and build confidence by leading parts of the sessions themselves. These combined activities resulted in the successful creation of the Inclusion Through Sports Toolkit, as planned. Participants reported increased competence, inspiration, and practical tools to use in their daily work with young people with fewer opportunities.
