Objectives

"Eco-Mindfulness for Sustainable Living" is an Erasmus+ youth exchange project designed to inspire young people to combine ecological awareness with mindfulness practices. This project aims to help participants cultivate eco-friendly habits while improving their mental health through a deeper connection with nature. By integrating mindfulness techniques with environmental education, participants will learn to make small yet meaningful lifestyle changes, promoting sustainability and personal well-being. Through this project, young people will be equipped with tools to better care for both the planet and themselves, fostering a balanced, mindful approach to sustainable living. A Holistic Approach to Youth Empowerment and Environmental Action This project addresses two critical issues facing young people today: mental health challenges and the need for environmental sustainability. In a world where climate change and mental health crises increasingly affect younger generations, "Eco-Mindfulness for Sustainable Living" offers a holistic solution. Participants will experience how mindfulness and spending time in nature can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while encouraging eco-friendly habits. The project provides a unique opportunity for young people to connect with nature, explore new perspectives on sustainability, and positively impact both their mental well-being and the environment. Inclusivity in Action The project places a strong emphasis on inclusivity by actively engaging young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, broken families, and immigrant or refugee communities. Many participants from these backgrounds may not have access to nature or mental health support, making this project a unique and supportive space for growth. By involving these participants, the project fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment, equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge to improve their lives and communities. Main Goal The main goal of the "Eco-Mindfulness for Sustainable Living" project is to empower young people to adopt sustainable living practices through mindfulness and nature-based activities, promoting both environmental stewardship and improved mental health. Project Journey: Key Phases for Success Phase #1: 1st Youth Exchange in Yerevan, Armenia (11-20 October 2025) Objectives: - Introduce participants to the concept of eco-mindfulness and explore how nature supports mental health and environmental awareness. - Foster connections between mindfulness, emotional well-being, and the development of sustainable habits. - Teach practical eco-friendly skills, such as waste reduction, resource conservation, and mindful consumption. - Build a strong sense of community and collaboration among participants from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. - Equip participants to act as eco-mindfulness ambassadors in their local communities, encouraging positive change. Phase #2: Community Nature Walks Each country group will organize two Community Nature Walks in their local communities, for a total of eight walks across the four countries. These walks will include practicing mindfulness in nature, enjoying outdoor spaces, and discussing simple, actionable steps participants can take to live more environmentally conscious lives. The walks will be open to friends, family, and neighbors, expanding the group's reach and encouraging wider community involvement in eco-mindfulness. Phase #3: 2nd Youth Exchange in Chorzów, Poland (13-18 June 2026) Objectives: - Reflect on the experiences from the Community Nature Walks, sharing successes, challenges, and best practices. - Deepen participants' understanding of eco-mindfulness and how to maintain long-term sustainable habits. - Collaboratively create the Eco-Mindfulness Guidebook, a resource for promoting eco-friendly living and mindfulness techniques. - Plan future initiatives and long-term actions to continue spreading eco-mindfulness within participants' communities and beyond. Participants Each youth exchange will involve a total of 34 individuals: 6 participants from each participating country (Poland, Armenia, Georgia, and Romania), led by 2 group leaders per country to provide adequate support. Each youth exchange will also include 2 facilitators, and the youth exchange in Poland will additionally have 1 accompanying person. Key Learning: Nature, Mindfulness, and Sustainability - Mindfulness in Nature: Enhancing mental health through meditation, breathing exercises, and nature immersion. - Ecological Responsibility: Promoting sustainable living with practices such as waste reduction and energy conservation. - Mental Health and Sustainability: Connecting with nature and mindfulness to improve well-being and support sustainable lifestyles. - Community Building: Creating inclusive environments for diverse participants to collaborate and support one another.
