Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data usage

Objectives

During the youth exchange on AI, we managed to create an international space for learning, sharing experiences, and developing digital competences. Our project addressed several key needs and challenges we face on a daily basis. Taking part in the project became a remedy for our limited access to tools and technologies that enable learning about artificial intelligence (AI), which had previously made it difficult for us to fully participate in the rapidly developing digital world. Participation in the project was also a successful attempt to counteract digital exclusion caused by the lack of access to high-speed Internet and appropriate equipment—barriers that hinder the development of digital and communication skills. Ultimately, taking part in the project allowed us to develop digital and technological competences, ensuring that we did not fall behind our peers from major academic urban centers. The project helped us gain knowledge about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and work automation. We will use this knowledge in the future job market, and it has also enabled us to understand how these technologies influence the society we live in. We increased our awareness of the presence of AI in our everyday lives—from voice assistants to recommendation systems in online stores. Through interactions with peers from other countries, we exchanged experiences related to the use of such technologies. By participating in the project, we developed critical thinking skills and reflected on the ethical aspects of AI. Together, we discussed issues such as data privacy, responsibility for decisions made by algorithms, and the risks associated with work automation. Conversations on these and many other topics strengthened our critical thinking abilities. Participation in the project also reinforced inclusivity and diversity. During the youth exchange, we learned about different perspectives on AI from various parts of Europe and even the world (thanks to participants from Hungary), which broadened our horizons and helped us understand the global challenges associated with new technologies. As part of our project, we addressed the question of how to promote sustainable development and social responsibility when using AI. The project not only enabled us to gain knowledge about AI and its applications but also helped us develop digital competences, the ability to work in an international group, and problem-solving skills in a global context (using AI). Additionally, through our participation, we managed to overcome language and cultural barriers, develop communication skills, and build confidence in using a foreign language. Overall, the project prepared us for active participation in the digital society, supporting our personal development and enabling us to better understand and adapt to the global technological world.
