Objectives

The "Healthy as a Tree" project has been designed to support young people in developing skills related to physical, mental, and ecological well-being. This initiative stems from the need to raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle and environmental responsibility. In the context of youth work, it is crucial to create conditions that foster lifelong learning skills, promote physical activity, build mental resilience, and cultivate responsibility for the planet. Project Goals from the Perspective of Youth Work: 1/ Increasing young people's awareness of mental and physical health – through workshops on stress management techniques, mindfulness practice, sports, and outdoor activities. 2/ Shaping pro-environmental attitudes – through ecological education, training on sustainable living, and a forest cleaning action in collaboration with a local school. 3/ Supporting social integration and fostering a sense of community – participants will work in international teams, enabling knowledge exchange and the development of intercultural competencies. 4/ Developing practical skills – providing tools that help integrate healthy and ecological habits into daily life. 5/ Promoting European values – by engaging young people in activities based on cooperation, intercultural dialogue, and respect for human rights and democracy. The project addresses the needs of young people who seek effective methods for maintaining both physical and mental health while wanting to contribute to environmental protection. It is particularly aimed at young people with fewer opportunities, who may have limited access to ecological education or mental health support programs. Through this project, participants will not only gain new skills and knowledge but also experience the real impact of ecological activities on their well-being. Outdoor activities, teamwork, and concrete environmental actions will strengthen their motivation for continued social and pro-health engagement. To sum up, the project is a response to key social challenges and aims not only to educate but also to bring a long-term impact on participants’ attitudes, their lifestyle, and their involvement in local and European initiatives.
