Objectives

The project "Future-ready with power skills" aims to address a soft-skills gap in youth development by enhancing youth workers' capacity to deliver power skills trainings through non-formal education. Our proposal is based on research, including our recent needs assessment involving youth and youth workers. From a youth work practice perspective, our objectives center on creating sustainable impact through four key dimensions. First, we will deliver a training for 25 youth workers, focusing on five essential power skills: teamwork, communication, conflict and problem management, organizational skills, and leadership. This training will integrate at least five scientific theories with practical non-formal education methods, ensuring youth workers have both theoretical foundation and practical tools. Second, we will expand youth workers' practical skills by adding at least seven new non-formal education activities to their professional toolbox. These activities will be specifically designed to engage disadvantaged young people, ensuring inclusive skill development opportunities. Third, we aim to boost youth workers' confidence and implementation capacity, targeting a 25% increase in power skills workshops across partner organizations, thereby expanding the reach and impact of power skills development programs. Finally, we will strengthen organizational capacity through cross-organizational learning and skill-sharing among five partner organizations. This collaborative approach will create a multiplier effect, as each organization's expertise in power skills development will be shared and integrated into a broader network of youth work practice. Through this approach, we aim to transform how youth workers support young people's development of essential life and career skills, creating more resilient, confident, and capable future leaders.
