The implementation of this project results from a deep understanding of the importance of effective communication, especially for people working with youth. In the everyday work of educators, trainers, trainers and coordinators, it is crucial to build relationships with young people, which requires clear, empathetic and precise communication. Avoiding misunderstandings is extremely important because young people are extremely sensitive to the way information is conveyed. Precise communication prevents conflicts and allows understanding the intentions of both parties, which is crucial when working with young people. The effectiveness of teamwork in the NGO context depends on clear communication of instructions and goal setting, which in turn increases productivity. Solving problems in youth groups requires open discussions that allow you to quickly find appropriate solutions. Communication is one of the most important elements of establishing relationships, both between colleagues and in contacts with young people, partners (other organizations, business, local government, etc.), and recipients of online activities. Differences in the way of communication, especially between adults and young people, are significant and may lead to a feeling of misunderstanding, being closed to conversation or conflicts. The project aims to increase the skills of effective communication among 24 people working with young people on a daily basis, both in the context of youth education, establishing partnerships and conducting online activities (recruitment, promotion of activities, responding to comments, user reactions, etc.). This is a response to identified communication problems, which often result from generational and language differences and from inadequate communication methods used by adults. The hard results of the project will include the creation of short, handy dictionaries of the youth dialect from each partner country (the most popular words, phrases, youth sayings along with their translation) and the creation of an educational game "The Art of Communication". The game will aim to increase participants' knowledge of communication, its types, styles and concepts related to conversation, as well as practical practice of various types of communication acts and improvement of social skills, including effective and efficient communication. Employees of organizations participating in the project who work with young people on a daily basis, create and implement educational, integration, cultural and social projects, as well as establish contacts with other non-governmental organizations, the business sector, local government units and the media, must have highly developed soft skills . These skills, such as teamwork, time management, creativity, leadership, empathy, assertiveness, stress management and communication, are crucial for effective work, especially with young people. Young people need support, an individual approach to their problems, listening and some kind of coaching from educators. Additionally, young people use other forms of communication, taking into account cultural, social, generational and linguistic changes, which often leads to misunderstanding on the part of adults and vice versa. Each of the organizations participating in the project faces this problem. We understand the generational differences between NGO employees and the people we work with on a daily basis. The project is aimed at teaching participants effective principles of effective communication, which do not change over time, but are crucial for the effective transfer of information and active listening. In the practice of working with youth, without these skills it is impossible to effectively support and understand young people. Educators must be able to adapt their communication methods to the specific needs and preferences of young people, as well as skillfully use digital communication tools. To sum up, the project aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective communication in various contexts, with various audiences, and above all, with young people. Thanks to this, they will be better prepared to meet the challenges presented by the modern, dynamically changing world.
