The “Light up the Waters” project was born out of the need to support young people aged 15-21 in developing social and civic competencies through active participation. Scouts in the Polish Scouting Association are young people ready to engage in community initiatives, but they often lack the tools, knowledge and mentoring support. The aim of the project is to equip them with leadership competencies, the ability to work using the project method and cooperate with community organizations, as well as inspire them to implement their own social activities. The project will enrich the program of the Wanderer Watra with an “NGO Day” and create a space for young people to meet with NGOs. Through workshops, training and a mentoring system, participants will be able to develop their ideas and implement them in their communities. A key outcome of the project will be the “Inspirer of Service” - a publication documenting good practices and methods for supporting youth in social activism.
