Young people with moderate and even mild intellectual disabilities are often excluded from online accessibility. There is a lack of resources adapted to their special needs - the report ‘Children with intellectual disabilities and ICT’ (ISBN 978-83-67621-10-6,Warsaw 2023) shows that adolescents with intellectual disabilities search for information on the Internet almost 6 times less frequently than adolescents without such disabilities, in particular with regard to effective use of AI. The project responds to the problem outlined above by supporting the development of digital competences of young people with special needs and their media literacy; it also aims to increase the level of digital safety of young people with fewer opportunities resulting from an intellectual disability certificate; and it responds to a specific social problem - digital exclusion among pupils of special schools.
