Objectives

The aim of the "Europe on the Move" project was to support young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, in developing key competences, building a sense of European identity, and increasing their participation in social and civic life. The European Institute Foundation, drawing on over 20 years of experience working with youth, aimed to enable young people to experience Europe's cultural diversity firsthand through educational mobility. The project addressed the real needs of participants, including economic, social, and educational barriers that limited their access to travel, non-formal education, and international experiences. The project's main goals included: developing participants' knowledge of Europe, its history, culture, and the role of regions in the European integration process; promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding through direct contact with the diversity of European societies; shaping attitudes of tolerance, inclusiveness, and openness; developing social, linguistic, and organizational competences through participation in international mobility; increasing environmental awareness and promoting sustainable forms of travel; strengthening participants' sense of empowerment and self-confidence. The project involved learning through experience (learning by doing), enabling participants to actively discover Europe, reflect on its diversity and build their own development path in the European context.
