The “The Future is Right Now!” the project aims to address critical challenges faced by young people in an increasingly digitized world, particularly those in rural and remote areas with limited access to resources. By implementing this project, our primary objective is to equip young people with the digital skills and knowledge needed to navigate and thrive in a technology-driven job market while fostering a culture of continuous learning and active participation in society. The project seeks to bridge the gap between the rapid advancement of technology and the limited opportunities available to young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. It focuses on empowering young people with practical skills and knowledge about emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity, thereby enhancing their employability. Another key aim is to combat youth unemployment by equipping participants with the skills required in the digital economy. This project also promotes inclusion and reduces inequality by actively involving young people with fewer opportunities, such as those in rural areas or facing economic and social challenges. Additionally, the project emphasizes fostering a sense of European identity and cooperation by bringing together young people from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Turkey, and Hungary, encouraging intercultural collaboration and solidarity. From a youth work perspective, the project’s objectives include developing digital literacy and competencies, enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, promoting active participation and leadership, encouraging peer learning and collaboration, creating sustainable and accessible educational resources, raising awareness about the importance of digital transformation, and inspiring entrepreneurship and innovation among young participants. These objectives will be achieved through non-formal education methods such as workshops and training sessions focused on digital skills and emerging technologies, practical activities like role-playing and real-world simulations, intercultural exchange through cultural nights and collaborative projects, and community outreach efforts where participants will share their knowledge with local schools, universities, and organizations. A significant component of the project is the creation of “Info Pills”, short and accessible educational video capsules that explain digital tools and technologies. These will serve as a sustainable resource for participants and their communities, ensuring the project’s impact extends far beyond the immediate timeframe. By actively involving young people in all phases of the project—planning, implementation, and dissemination—the initiative ensures they develop a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Participants will gain valuable skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and adaptability. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate with peers from different cultural and geographical backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and building lasting connections. The project will provide young people with a platform to share their ideas, influence the project’s direction, and take on leadership roles, thereby increasing their confidence and sense of agency. The expected outcomes include improved digital skills and employability among participants, increased confidence and leadership abilities, and stronger engagement with local and international communities. Participants will be equipped to act as ambassadors for digital literacy and Erasmus+ initiatives, inspiring their peers to engage in similar opportunities. Furthermore, the project will contribute to reducing inequalities by creating a digitally inclusive environment where young people, regardless of their backgrounds, can access the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed in the modern job market. By aligning with the priorities of the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Programme, the project addresses urgent challenges while fostering innovation, collaboration, and resilience among Europe’s youth. In essence, “The Future is Right Now!” aims to create a lasting impact on young people, their communities, and the broader European society by empowering them to embrace the opportunities of the digital age and contribute meaningfully to its advancement.
