This project emerged as a response to the intersection between the need to improve the mental health of young people and the urgency of empowering them with practical skills to deal with climate challenges. We wanted to create an inclusive space where young people could explore these issues, empowering them to respond constructively and collaboratively to global challenges, through practical tools that would make them more resilient and active in their communities. We combined outdoor activities with the development of personal and social skills, which we consider essential to address environmental challenges. At the same time, they provided a sense of purpose and accomplishment that directly contributed to improving the mental health of young people. One of the main characteristics of the project was also the opportunity for young people to step out of their comfort zone, disconnect from their daily routines and reconnect with themselves and with Nature. Regarding the project's objectives: - To offer participants tools to cope with social and emotional pressure, developing self-care and mindfulness practices. - To raise awareness among young people about current environmental challenges, involving them in concrete actions such as tree planting and sustainability activities. - To improve skills such as communication, conflict resolution, and civic engagement, preparing them to be active and responsible citizens. - To create an active youth group that will continue to promote the project's themes in their communities, ensuring the continuity and impact of the work done. In short, with this project we aimed to create a non-formal learning environment where young people become protagonists of their personal and social development, learning to care for themselves and the planet. At the end of the initiative, each participant acquired not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills and transformative attitudes that will endure in their lives and in their communities.
